Megafrost values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("the App"), available on Google Play.
1. Information We Collect
When you use the App to back up your media, we may collect:
- Photos, videos, and other media you select for backup: Google Cloud Storage.
- Your email address or account credentials (if you sign in): Google Firebase.
- Non-personal data on how you use the App (for analytics and improvements): Google Analytics.
2. Data Storage and Security
Your media is uploaded securely to Google Cloud Storage.
For extra security, you can choose to encrypt your media from your device using a passphrase.
In this case, the passphrase is not stored in the cloud.
Thus, you will not be able to access your media if you forget your passphrase.
We do not sell or share your media with third parties.
We do not use your media to train AI models.
We do not profit directly or indirectly in any way from your media.
Your media is yours and only yours.
3. Data Access
You should be aware that the fundamental functioning of Megafrost is based on the idea that uploads and downloads are billed separately.
Thus, restoring your own media may require a payment.
The cost of restoring a given file will be disclosed before that file is uploaded.
Therefore, access to your uploaded media is always guaranteed but it may have a cost.
This rule applies even at the point you decide to close your account.
4. Data Retention
Your media files and personal data are stored as long as your account is active plus a grace period in case you reactivate your account.
You can delete your backups or request account deletion at any time. Note this has no cost.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with the updated effective date.
